Roundtable Meeting Minuets (November 14, 2005)

Location: Marlton Assembly of God

Host Commander: Pat Cody

Devotion by: Commander Frank Schaeffer, Outpost 54

Titled: The Eyes of Others Are on You

Commander Schaeffer read some inserts from the Honor Bound Magazine. The magazine articles focused on men's ministry in the church.  One of the inserts Comdr. Schaefer read was; "Opportunity and Opposition".  Have you ever become discouraged, by resistance to your attempts to work for God? If you are doing your best and follow the Holy Spirit's leading, take hart.  Opposition is only natural.  Why would Satan sit idly by while God is being glorified?  Expect to take a little heat now and then, and stand strong.  Your perseverance will pay off.  Comdr. Schaefer encouraged us all to read the magazine that it will enrich our spiritual lives.

Round Table Meeting: The West Central Roundtable meeting was held on November14, 2005 at the Marlton Assembly of God Church, in Marlton, NJ. The meeting begun at 7:30 P.M. and concluded about 10:00 P.M.

Prior Round Table Minuets: Highlights from the October Round Table meeting were read and accepted.

Uniform scrutinizing:  Cmdr. Ruggieri, suggested the scrutinizing of uniforms should be done discreetly and with kindness so that no one is embarrassed or insulted.  He told of an incident that happened to him many years ago.  Although he felt that it may have been a little picky at the time.  The person doing the scrutinizing of his uniform said to him "I am only trying to help".  So, we say to you that "We are only trying to help". Remember to be kindly, and do it in a loving spirit, not to embarrass or humiliate the person and to do so with permission from the person.  No one should touch your uniform without first getting permission from you to do so.

N.J. District Ranger of the Year results:  Four boys from our Section have successfully attained the level of excellent in the New Jersey District testing for 2004 - 2005 ROTY Evaluation and will represent the District at the Regional testing in January. They are; David Kaye, Richard Worley, Christopher Slimm and Gabriel Collazo.  Christopher and Gabriel are both eligible to participate in the National Ranger of the Year competition.

In addition, Richard Worley III and Matthew Fannon earned the outstanding level and received the Sectional medallion with the red, white, and blue ribbon.   Congratulations to all these young men, their parents, and their commanders!

FCF Update: Commander Mike Collazo

Commander Collazo read some inserts from; Gabriel “Fire Thrower” Collazo West Central Section Assistant Scout, report on the 2005 FCF Rendezvous.

The 2005 FCF District Regional Rendezvous Encampment, was held on October 21-23, 2005 in Greenville, NY. Events included; tomahawk throwing, knife throwing, black powder rifle shooting, archery, outfit judging, flint and steel, and horn blowing, along with the outpouring of the Holy Spirit. On Saturday night each Chapter was required to have their own council fire including worship and preaching due to the rain. Commander Bob “Grizzly” Adams was asked by Commander Bill “Strong Heart” Goodwin to be the speaker for the John Fenwick Chapter. Grizzly's words were inspired by the book of Luke, chapter 20. In this chapter Jesus speaks about the signs of His coming. This was a great time in worship and seeking God changed many hearts in the Chapter.

I encourage you to seek after God with all your heart, soul, and mind and to come join the FCF John Fenwick Chapter and partake in fun activities as well as spiritual growth.

Gabriel “Fire Thrower” Collazo.

2006 Sectional Pow wow planning discussion items:

·         Select Pow wow Speaker: by Commanders Barnes/Collazo.

Commander Barns reported that he had asked Pastor Billy Rhodes of Fountain of Life Center, if he would be interested in speaking at the 2006 Pow wow.  The Pastor accepted and Commander Mike Barnes stated that he would get back to him as this matter would have to be voted on.  The option of selecting or presenting any other speakers was opened to floor.  No other suggestions were presented and Pastor Billy Rhodes was selected by a show of hands.

·        Select Pow wow Theme: by Commanders LaSala/Slimm

Commander LaSala opened the discussion to the floor for selecting a Pow wow theme.  Commander Slimm suggested calling it "Watch Out", due to the recent tragic death of a former Royal Ranger.  Commander Joe Mussella also told of a tragic accident involving a classmate of his daughter.  Other theme suggestions were; One Life, One Chance and now is the time.  The theme selected by those in attendance was "Watch Out".  Watch out! Don't let me find you living in careless ease and drunkenness, and filled with the worries of this life. Don't let that day catch you unaware, as in a trap. For that day will come upon everyone living on the earth. Keep a constant watch.”  Luke 21:34-36

Pinewood Derby: By Commander John LaSala

Commander LaSala stated that the PWD Track was pre-fitted with the new electronic racing equipment, and is ready for Race day,. November 19 - next Saturday.  The software was loaded onto a computer that will collect and record the data from the races.  If interested in helping out with the PWD, please come early. Don’t forget to invite your Missionettes.

Commander Ruggieri, remind that the boys should bring money to purchase lunch that will be made available at the PWD.

District Winter Day discussion:

Our District Commander John Benda, has suggested that the Winter Day be handled by individual Sections as the Ranger Kids Day was separated in the past.  The question was, do we as a Section want to take this event over or maybe suggest that it be divided up into two individual events.  One DWD to be held in North Jersey, and a second DWD in South Jersey.  Commander Slimm suggested that maybe we should move Winter-Day to March instead of January and ask the Southern and East Central Sections if they would like to participate as one group. Attending commanders (5-Outpost) stated that they will support it where ever it was held.  Commander Ruggieri said that he will discuss this with the District Commander and other Sectional Commanders to get their thoughts on this issue.
