Greetings Fellow Rangers,
Can you believe 2008 is rolling along and it is February already?! Boy does time fly by! One of the topics of health that has been on my heart for us is in the area of well being and lifestyles. Let me share a couple of areas for your consideration. As always, these are suggestions and if a doctor is caring for you review any changes with them first.
Exercise: Each of us should be as active as possible on a daily basis. The American Heart Association has suggested 10,000 steps a day to increase and improve our activity levels. Many people do not get enough physical activity daily.
Nutrition: Have you visited the MyPyramid.gov website yet? There have been new changes in the guidelines of our food needs. Most people don’t eat five servings of fruits and veggies daily. How are you doing in this area? Whole grains are important as well. The website is easy to use and friendly.
Looking ahead: As we look ahead in 2008 it just might be a healthier year as we make some changes. Would you like to be a little more active and have more energy? How about getting a few more servings of the foods that make and keep us healthy? As you consider this I hope you’ll take some action steps to a healthier year. I am too!
