Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ,
I am very humbled and honored to be the 2005 National Ranger of the year. I would first like to thank our Lord and Savior, for without Him none of this would be possible. Next, I would like to thank my Mom and Dad who stood by me and believed in me. I also would like to thank Pastor Kurt Kinney and Pastor Joe Parker of Bethel Christian Center for their continued prayers and faithful support of our Royal Ranger program.
I would also like to thank all the Commanders in my Outpost and at all the Jr. camps that have trained me over the past 9 years. I want to single out one Commander, Marcus Moore the 1993 National ROTY. He always said anyone of us at Outpost 15 could do it. Cmdr. Marcus was my Cmdr. when I earned my GMA, and was there to support me when I earned National ROTY.
Most of all, I would like to thank Sectional Cmdr. John Earnest who is now with the Lord. He always had time for me and other boys. Cmdr. Earnest is the one who had the vision to start the N.J. District Advancement Academy, where I have attended PLTC, JTC AJTC, JSC, JMC & JCE. I praise God for men like them, and pray I can serve the Lord just as well.
I look forward to representing the Royal Ranger boys of the Northeast Region at National Council and Camporama. Please keep me in your prayers this up-coming year; I can not do this without them.
In His Service,
Jr. Cmdr. Christopher M. Slimm
National Royal Ranger of the Year
